Richmond Village is a multi-phase HOPE VI project developed through the partnership of McCormack Baron Salazar, EM Johnson Interest, the Richmond Housing Authority, East Bay Neighborhood Housing Services and CHDC.
The project includes 255 rental apartments and 82 for-sale homes, for a total of 337 units. Rental units range in size from one to four bedroom units, and are affordable to families earning between 20% – 60% of the Area Median Income (up to $45,000 annually for a household of three). Of the 82 new single family homes, ten were reserved for households with incomes below 80% of the area median income, and the rest were sold to moderate income (80-100% of area median income) households.
Amenities in Richmond Village include a community building, swimming pool, recreation field, picnic area, playground, open space, off-street gated parking, and an children’s after-school center. The units themselves have dining rooms with open kitchens, generously sized rooms and large windows. All units came with a dishwasher, refrigerator, washer, dryer and security system; and were pre-wired for telephone, computer and cable access. Front doors face the street, to create a traditional neighborhood feel with “eyes on the street” for security, and all units also have private yards or decks at the back.
Richmond Village is centrally located along Interstate 580, and a short distance from BART and Amtrack stations, providing convenient access to commercial, employment, and recreational centers.
